About a month ago, a lovely lady from the US Macmillan office sent me an email. She was offering me a review copy of a new book they have out - Born Under A Million Shadows by Andrea Busfield.
Of course I jumped at the chance. And about a week ago, it arrived. Now I am currently absorbed in Night Train to Lisbon by Pascal Mercier (review coming) so I haven't even started it yet.
But on first glance - the blurb looks interesting, the cover is pretty and I love that the title is in all those colours. Having recently read A Thousand Splendid Suns, I'm looking forward to another book set in Afghanistan - and I think the "crackling wit" promised on the back cover will be very welcome.
Check back for my review coming in the next month!
I misread and thought you said you were aboard the night train to Lisbon! I was so jealous until I realised you were just reading a really good book-then I was just a little jealous. xxx
